A very nice honest belt and cartridge box set for the 58-caliber musket. This is the Pattern of 1861 with rivets in rear belt loops, but no rivet on closing tab. No markings on either belt or box. It has the early war light dye job yielding a nice mellow brown color to both pieces. The leather is in very nice condition with no crazing or wear. Sized at approximately 7 7/8 wide by 6 ½ tall on flap with a full set of original tins. The only problem with this set is that someone has cut the shoulder strap buckles off and the implement pouch off. You don’t see these when displayed. Despite the losses, the set is well priced.
The US belt and buckle is approx. 38 ½ inches long from end of belt to tip of buckle by 1 7/8 inch wide on the leather. The belt plate is arrow-backed. The end brass c-closure is the earlier type with no stamping marks.

A set of early ramrod pipe and thimble for a 1740-1770 era flintlock musket. I’m not sure of the exact gun but I have seen very similar style on numerous early muskets. These are not cast brass but heavy rolled brass sheet, with an engraved line on the thimble and embossed lines on the thimble and pipe. Just the two pieces are available.
